Coastal Transport Co., Inc is Hiring a Transportation Dispatcher - Day Near Abilene, TX

Position:

Fulltime Day Dispatcher Send Resume

Schedule: 12 Hours shift with 4 days on 3 days off

Compensation:

Industry Competitive Pay

Responsibilities:

  • Dispatch trucks according to customer demands and operational efficiency.
  • Establish and adjust routes daily in an efficient, profitable manner.
  • Work with customers to arrange services and determine customer-specific driver duties.
  • Communicate with management, customers and drivers to resolve service issues, ensure proper documentation and secure profitable loads.
  • Monitor driver hours in order to balance schedules and observe DOT compliance and HSSE requirements.
  • Determine load needs of customers and clearly communicate delivery requirements for each job to drivers and management team.
  • Ensure daily documentation of DOT Logs, DVIRS and Fleet maintenance schedules.
  • Enter load data in Dispatch Database.
  • Generate reports documenting load- times, unload -times, route completions and driver locations.

Requirements:

  • Must be available to work variable shifts.
  • 2 years of related industry experience preferred; minimum education of High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Spanish bilingual skills is a plus
  • Knowledge of time-distance geography, DOT regulations and HSE requirements as they pertain to the specific business.
  • Excellent computer skills with an emphasis on MS Access and Excel programs.
  • Familiarity with GPS Tracking systems and Google Maps or other mapping equivalent.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
