Mavensoft Technologies is Hiring a Technical Business Analyst Near Portland, OR

Job Title: Technical Business Analyst Duration: 6 months (W2-Contract) Location: Portland, OR (hybrid) Key-skills: Requirements Gathering, Quickbase, P6, Oracle ERP, Coupa, Maximo, Microsoft Products, WinEst, DevonWay We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in gathering, analyzing, and documenting requirements for the implementation of a Project Portfolio Management System to support the management of our projects. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with various team members and contribute to the successful consolidation and standardization of our project and portfolio management tools. Team and Work Environment: 
  • Team Size: 10 direct team members, 30 individual contributors 
  • Project Initiatives: Gather requirements to streamline and standardize project and portfolio management through consolidating tools and implementing a new software application. 
  • Applications Used: Quickbase, P6, Oracle ERP, Coupa, Maximo, Microsoft Products, WinEst, DevonWay 
Day-to-Day Responsibilities: 
  • Meet with team members to gather and document requirements for the Project Portfolio Management System application. 
  • Attend project team meetings and initiate 1:1 meetings with individual contributors. 
  • Report gathered requirements back to the project manager. 
  • Prepare detailed requirement documents to be included in the RFP. 
Required Skills: Utilities Experience: Not required, but helpful. Must-Haves: 
  1. Strong background in requirements gathering for IT integrations and application implementations. 
  2. Proficiency in conflict management and prioritization of requirements. 
  3. High proficiency with Microsoft Products, data visualization, and communicating technical processes to business professionals. 
Nice-to-Haves: 
  1. Intermediate knowledge of International Institute of Business Analysis (BABOK) processes. 
  2. Adaptability in a team environment. 
  3. Creativity and critical thinking.

  • Conduct investigative work to determine business requirements and specify effective business processes. 
  • Apply and monitor the use of modeling and analysis tools, methods, and standards. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for strategy studies, business requirements specifications, and feasibility studies. 
  • Prepare business cases defining potential benefits and associated business risks. 
  • Facilitate scoping and business priority setting for large or complex changes. 
  • Manage consultancy services and/or a team of consultants. 
  • Analyze business processes to recommend new approaches and evaluate various factors impacting change programs. 
  • Identify specific measures for benefits and plan their activation.

  • Expert knowledge of requirements documentation and client relationship management techniques.

 Education Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 
Certification Requirements: 
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification preferred. 
Experience: 
  • Preferred 8 years of experience in or knowledge of a specific line of business and/or IT environment.
