Database Administrator
Primary Location: Hartford, Connecticut

V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Database Administrator for our premier client in Hartford, Connecticut .

Education and Experience "

• Expected to have at least ten years of relevant work experience, ideally in a school or educational agency, managing school nutrition data applications, and automated processes.
• Database Administrators with Applications experience are responsible for data migration, data cleanup, data reporting, as well as managing and maintaining the hardwired lines and wireless connections in a system and the hardware that hooks up to that system.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities "

• SQL/Oracle experience is not required.
• The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Access as that is where all current data is stored.
• The candidate should be familiar with data migration and data cleanup, analyzing and figuring out system needs, and strong research and development.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Job Responsibilities:

• Proficient in Microsoft Access.
• Fixed Asset System Integrations.
• Testing/Piloting operations.
• School rollout Grading user interface reports.
• API connections.
• Creating QR codes.
• Data migration and data cleanup.
• Analyzing and figuring out the system needs of an organization Research and development.
• Keeping systems operating efficiently by performing any necessary upgrades and repairs.
• Planning a strategy to maintain system security on the computers and the network as a whole Optimizing and evaluating the system regularly Assigning and updating security permissions for the system network.
• Training or directing users on the correct use of software and hardware within the system.
• Performing problem-solving tasks when alerted by a user or monitoring system.
• Tracking, installing, and configuring software updates and performing database backups to restore and protect user information.
• Installing hardware and software for the network.
