Position: Donor Relations Manager

  • Reporting To: Director of Development
  • Status: Exempt

Primary Purpose

The Donor Relation Manager plays a pivotal role in achieving MHS’s revenue goals by securing support from individual donors, corporations, and foundations. This position involves high-level donor cultivation, event management, grant management and donor stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Major Donor Stewardship:
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential major donors.
  • Create personalized strategies for donor engagement and retention.
  • Event Management:
  • Oversee fundraising events, ensuring successful planning, execution, and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with the events team to maximize donor participation and impact.
  • Leverage events as opportunities for donor cultivation and recognition.
  • Annual Fund:
  • Design, implement, and manage annual giving campaigns.
  • Coordinate direct mail efforts and donor communications.
  • Monitor progress toward annual fund goals.
  • Grant Solicitation and Reporting:
  • Research, write, and prepare grant proposals for foundations and corporations.
  • Ensure timely submission of grants and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with program staff to align grant proposals with organizational priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., nonprofit management, fundraising, communications).
  • Proven experience in fundraising, donor relations, and grant writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain donor relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in donor database management and fundraising software.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
