The Team:

Join our American Girl team, the largest direct-to-consumer doll brand known for its rich storytelling and best-in-class omnichannel experience. The Brand Marketing team is responsible for end-to-end product strategy, including line planning & management, asset development and marketing plans. We develop strong campaigns, all with careful management of the P&L and ensuring financial success. Marketing serves as the connective tissue between other cross functional partners and key stakeholders such as design, development, finance, and our commercial and retail teams.

The Opportunity:

The Associate Marketing Manager, American Girl, will work closely with the Manager and cross functional teams in product marketing to bring American Girl products to market. This includes synthesizing consumer insights to make informed decisions, briefing marketing assets, reporting and analyzing industry and internal POS metrics, and meticulous management of the P&L to achieve growth and deliver on financial objectives.

What Your Impact Will Be:

Business Analysis:

  • Data analysis and high-level outlook forecasting for revenue target setting
  • Summarize business findings to support regular reports (weekly, monthly, year-end and key initiatives).
  • Contribute to company-wide and senior management presentations.
  • Management of P&L, utilizing internal and external reporting tools coupled with analytical skills to develop business assessments.
  • Recaps key findings and provide recommendations for line management, slot development, and future business strategies.

Line Management:

  • Work closely with the Product Design, Packaging, Development teams to bring innovative and compelling toys to market on time and on budget
  • Active participant assessing margin targets, developing and managing line plans from initiation to completion
  • Work closely with promotions and excess inventory managers on planning/timing for product retirements.
  • Maintains key product line management tools, including internal and external documents.
  • Drives recommendation and communication for SKU rotation and retirement by channel to maximize margin and revenue. Supports internal and external partners in execution of initiatives.

Marketing:

  • Drives the recommendation for cross channel prioritization of marketing & merchandising. Works with channel partners on catalog page grid planning, layouts, and copy/content review.
  • Support and participate in marketing initiatives as applicable.
  • Brief marketing assets

What We're Looking For:

  • 5 years (2 years with MBA) experience in marketing, preferably in product development, or in a retail or consumer driven company.
  • Sound financial and analytical skills. Experience analyzing data and managing financials to make recommendations.
  • Thorough understanding of marketing mix and KPIs
  • Highly organized, independent and detail oriented with strong follow up skills
  • Strong PowerPoint creation and presentation skills, proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel

The annual base salary range for this position is between $110,000 and $125,000.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
