General Statement of Duties:

The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day monitoring, quality control, system configuration, trouble-shooting, technical documentation, policy management and general management of the data center. The position manages a comprehensive physical and virtual server environment and maintains networked storage and high availability. The position has a strong Security and HIPAA compliance focus. The IT System Engineer is also required to participate in the 24x7 on-call rotation as a member of the IT Department.

Essential Duties:

1. Manages comprehensive physical and virtual environment.
2. Manages and maintains networked storage and high availability.
3. Assists network engineers with server/network configuration for existing and new environments.
4. Acts as an escalation point for the Service Desk.
5. Supports daily maintenance and problem resolutions, operating system patches, software upgrades, routine hardware configuration, and related firmware updates.
6. Suggests and provides IT solutions to business and management problems.
7. Works with multiple vendors to design key solutions.
8. Assists in preparation of proposals and solution presentations.
9. Creates and maintains detailed documentation for all implemented systems.
10. Participates in 24x7 on-call rotation.

Requirements:

• Associate's Degree in related field required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• One Advanced Infrastructure Certification (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, VMWare, etc.) required; two preferred
• 6-8 years of related experience required
• Preferred 2-4 years of systems engineering experience
