Facility: OrthoIndy Hospital, Westfield, IN 
DepartmentOIH Surg Rad Techs
Shift Details: Part-time, 24 hours per week. Three 8 hour weekday shifts from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm with ability to flex up or down one hour when needed. No weekends! Benefits include pro-rated paid time off and eligibility to join our 401K program with generous match after 90 days of service!

OrthoIndy Hospital Westfield, located in Westfield,Indiana, will be opening four operating rooms in Spring 2024 and will provideoutpatient procedures and surgeries!  Prior to opening day, training will occur atour main hospital located on the northwest side of Indianapolis. Currently, our Westfield location provides outpatientcare for patients that includes an urgent care clinic, clinics, imaging andphysical therapy.

General Statement of Duties: 

The Radiologic Technologist Surgery takes images of various portions of the body by operating radiologic equipment according to developmental factors and age specifics under supervision and as directed by a Physician.

Essential Duties:

  1. Operates radiology equipment, including but not limited to: OEC C-arm, O-arm, Siemens, AMX portable, mini OEC and mini ortho scan. Operates radiology equipment with knowledge of the following; total joint placement and replacement, ORIF and arthroscopic surgeries on all extremities, spine general, and physiatry. Intra-operative and post-operative portable imaging. Assists physicians with image guided injections, under physician guidance. Passes medications needed during exams. Utilizes digital subtraction and angiography.
  2. Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  3. Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  4. Observes patients during procedure. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.
  5. Performs specialized imaging procedures such as nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures.
  6. Assists with image guided biopsies and radiofrequency ablations of tumors. 
  7. Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines. Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards. 
  8. Applies operating room traffic patterns and aseptic technique. Applies sterile technique principles. Complies to surgical attire. 
  9. Assists with procedures and provide diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Assists physicians with image guided injections.
  10. Assists surgeon in research projects. 

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree required in Radiologic Technology
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.) certification required
  • BLS certification required 
  • 1-2 years of experience required; 2-4 years of experience preferred
