    02/01/2024 The Matanuska Susitna Borough School District has modified the selection process for Administrative candidates for the FY25 school year in an effort to more effectively evaluate all administrative candidates. Included with these changes will be a recommended prescreen interview (in person or virtual), which will be the held in the middle/end of January with the possibility of a February session.
    To effectively schedule enough prescreen interview slots, please email Bethany.Lyons@matsuk12.us in addition to completing an application so we know you are interested. Based on the number of interested candidates, we will communicate prescreen session dates and include sign up information. If you have any questions regarding this process, please do not hesitate to contact us.
    Required Qualifications: Ability to obtain by the start of the contracted school year-Alaska Type B Administrative Certificate and an Alaska Type A Teaching Certificate
    Preferred Qualifications: Three (3) years administrative experience at similar and comparable school preferred. Knowledge and background in elementary and secondary school curriculum, student attendance, management, and discipline skills. Applicant should be able to oversee student activities and discipline.

    • An administrator fosters positive community relations while facilitating parent involvement
    • An administrator establishes and promotes high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance and responsibility for behavior
    • An administrator demonstrates an understanding of the use of data to inform instructional practice
