Position Description: To teach assigned Science courses in a contextual manner that is directed towards career pathways. The instructor will instruct both the required and supplementary subject matter, and create an excellent classroom environment which is conducive to learning for each individual student.

Salary: $56,445 – $88,646 Depending on verification of service and education. MSBSD has a competitive Salary Schedule with an accelerated step advancement. Applicants can bring a maximum of 6 years’ experience. We pay an additional $3,000 bonus PER YEAR for National Certification.

Leave: Each Certified Teacher receives 4 paid personal leave days at the beginning of the year and accrues 1.33 sick leave days each month of employment.

Retirement: MSBSD is a member of the State of Alaska Teachers Retirement System.
Licensing Requirements (position requirements at entry): Alaska Type A teaching certificate. Preferred candidate will have the ability to teach topics raging from Algebra to Calculus. A clear understanding of the Alaska State Content Standards related to Science is required, also the skills and knowledge to teach courses outside the core subject area.
