Our corporate office in Livonia, Michigan is currently seeking a Demand Planner to join our team! The essential function of this position is to develop accurate grower forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and input from procurement and marketing teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze demand patterns, seasonality, and market trends to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with procurement and commodity teams to gather relevant information and insights for demand forecasting.
  • Maintain and update forecasting models, incorporating new data and refining methodologies to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Closely coordinate and communicate grower action plans with the commodity team.
  • Review and adjust production levels to align with forecasted demand and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Develop demand forecast at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time periods
  • Generate regular reports and metrics to track forecast accuracy, inventory performance, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of demand planning processes.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies relevant to demand planning and supply chain management.

Education/Background Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or other related fields.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a demand planning/forecasting role

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
  • The capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have ability to effectively follow-up and handle multiple projects with strong personal time-management skills and effectively manage associated stress
  • Highly proficient in computer-use skills (MS Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership
  • Willingness to work with a high degree of professionalism and personal integrity
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Need to be creative, adaptable and able to accurately handle out of the ordinary issues with a sense of urgency
