Our Livonia, Michigan office is currently seeking a Business Analyst our Information Technology team. The essential function of this position is to drive solutions for key business stakeholders in our Farms, Human Resources (HR), and Custom Applications Group. The Agile Business Analyst will lead the collection, capture, and management of user requirements from prioritization, concept development, and user story writing to support development and deployment as a business analyst subject matter expert. You will facilitate the gathering of business-focused requirements to support a product team, and product owner, including defining the backlog and ensuring the user’s perspective is considered. You will work with the product owner and users to determine the operational objectives of business needs and elicit requirements focusing on requirements related to improved usability, user experience, and user adoption and engagement.

This role requires a mixture of business acumen and technical expertise, along with an ability to build strong partnerships with business partners. Success in the role will require a self-starter with a passion for collaborating with others to solve problems.

Responsibilities
  • Identify core business needs, decompose and document concepts of operation, story maps, briefings, and user stories, document business rules, and construct workflow diagrams, as needed.
  • Condense complex business processes into clear and actionable user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Work with IT and business stakeholders to review, update, and maintain a business process roadmap of the to-be system and evaluate areas of reengineering by outlining potential to-be processes.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Actively engage in an Agile (Scrum) environment with a focus on iterative and test-driven methodologies.
  • Making recommendations on system improvements, automation, and risk management based on product analysis.
  • Interfacing with the product management and development teams to ensure all have a thorough understand of the system requirements.
  • Field incoming problem tickets from end users to resolve application and software issues within mission-critical systems.
  • Prioritize, schedule, and administer all instances where enhancements and defect resolution are required.

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems. MBA preferred.
  • At least 8 years work experience as a Business Analyst in a role that required regular business analytics, high tech, software, or mgmt. consulting company preferred with strong delivery skills.
  • Experience/Certification in Agile SDLC methodologies.
  • Certified Scrum Master

Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven experience using the Agile methodology in a business analyst role.
  • Ability to prepare business requirements (compile, document, and validate).
  • Ability to develop and maintain system and user documentation.
  • Experience communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings.
  • A blend of administrative and analytical expertise, problem solving and organizational skills capable of effectively interfacing with many functional areas and levels.
  • Document Business Use Case / detailed user stories on the requirements
  • Own backlog, conduct backlog grooming sessions & drive prioritization
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
  • Proficient in programming languages and techniques, including C/AL, .Net Framework, SQL, and Jet Reports
  • Extensive application support experience with mission critical large scale systems such as ERP and Data Warehouse environments.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Able to develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end user procedures.
  • Knowledge of trends in technology relating to software applications.
  • Proven ability to prepare project templates for requirements gathering, design workshops, Development Specifications, Test Scripts, etc.
  • On the business side, you will manage expectations and help them translate their vision into a sound product backlog. Due to some customers not working Agile, you will need knowledge of Agile development methodologies and be able to organize engaging workshops with customers to identify all of the technical requirements needed.
  • Proven ability to Become a Subject Matter Expert on a variety of packages and custom business applications.
  • Ability Drive execution for specific feature functionality from product definition and planning through production, release, and end-of-life
  • Ability to work and adapt in a fast paced, innovative team environment with both local and remote team members.

  • Ability to work in Canada
  • Ability to Travel to Mastronardi, Vendor, Customer sites as necessary.
    • Travel between Kingsville, Ont., and Livonia, MI., may be frequent.
    • Travel to other Mastronardi, Customer, or Vendor locations is less than 10%.
