Our Livonia, Michigan office is currently seeking a Business Analyst our Information Technology team. The essential function of this position is to deliver warehouse management business solutions through application enhancement and support activities. This includes defining requirements, testing, resolving issues, and troubleshooting applications and software for all internal customers, such as Operations, Logistics, and other business units. The Business Analyst - WMS will also be responsible for learning the business processes and capabilities to reduce manual steps, improve productivity, and support the organizational change management deliverables to increase the acceptance of new applications.

Position Responsibilities


Strategy & Planning

  • Create and deploy feedback mechanisms for end users. Analyze results, make recommendations for support process improvement, and implement changes.
  • Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent repeated future problems.


Acquisition & Deployment

  • Conduct research into software application products and services in support of development and purchasing efforts.
  • Provide support for the testing of new and existing software applications under development or consideration for purchase.


Application Delivery:

  • Lead the requirements gathering for new business capability in the Distribution Center and Logistic business areas. Create test scripts/cases and conduct testing to verify the requirements have been met to the Product Owner’s satisfaction.
  • Participate in the design, development, and delivery of software applications training programs and individual classes.
  • Coordinate with department heads to assess departmental application training needs and objectives.


Operational Management

  • Field incoming problem tickets from end users that require subject matter expert help to resolve application and software issues within servers, databases, and other mission-critical systems.
  • Prioritize, schedule, and administer all instances where enhancements and defect resolution are required.
  • Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, end users, and unit leaders.
  • Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.
  • Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the organization.
  • Work with vendors to post software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on company intranet to assist in problem resolution.
  • Work with vendors to perform preventative maintenance, including the installation of service packs, patches, hot fixes, anti-virus software, and so on.
  • Liaise with vendors who provide managed services to ensure all service are being performed and that service levels are consistently being achieved. Deal with issues as needed.

Position Requirements


Formal Education & Certification

  • University degree in the field of computer science or information systems and 3 years related work experience.
  • Education and/or experience with Agile delivery principles are an asset.


Knowledge & Experience

  • 3 years as a Business Analyst using Agile delivery practices.
  • In-depth, hands-on knowledge of and experience with enterprise applications, including Blue Yonder or SAP eWM warehouse management system is preferred.
  • Familiar with Confluence, Jira, and MS Teams tools is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
  • Extensive application support experience with mission critical large scale systems such as WMS, specifically Blue Yonder and Microsoft NAV ERP.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Able to develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end user procedures.
  • Knowledge of trends in technology relating to software applications.
  • Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.

Work Conditions
  • Occasional travel between training locations required.
