MasterMold is Hiring an Environmental Health and Safety Near Johnson, WI

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will be responsible for a broad range of technical work across EHS disciplines to ensure a safe and healthy work environment, with an emphasis placed on reducing risk.

The EHS will be responsible to develop and lead the implementation of both ISO 14001 and 18001 including building the team of professionals to help develop and manage the programs long term.

The EHS will also manage any agency required data collection and reporting, risk assessment, incident analysis, training and overall program management for all MasterMold facilities. You will need to perform work both individually and in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.

A bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene or related major and/or five or more years in an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer, Specialist or Manager role in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred. You will based in Johnson Creek, WI, and also support the Mauston WI facility.

What You Will Achieve

Leads site Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program(s) serving an essential role in leading, partnering and supporting business driven technical, cultural, and strategic initiatives in alignment with MasterMolds corporate policies and goals.

The EHS also provide coaching and oversight to team members to fulfill their day-to-day responsibilities and manage their overall development by arranging training and development programs.

Qualifications

  • Manage, implement, and oversee the strategic development of EHS policies and programs to improve the organization's environmental, safety and security performance, ensure it complies with current and future regulations and standards, and protect its reputation.
  • Manage EHS activities to ensure the organization complies with EHS regulations as well as internal environmental policies.
  • These activities may include, monitor EHS performance, identify risks or areas for improvement; conduct safety audits and on-site inspections to identify workplace hazards; investigate environmental incidents; prepare reports and recommendations; implement waste management programs; develop and deliver EHS training programs; manage relationships with community or environmental stakeholders.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend changes to improve EHS performance.
  • Compile, monitor, analyze and respond to leading and lagging performance indicators to ensure controls are maintained effectively; identify and implement EHS continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and Own both the 6S program as well as SEWOs and the Safety and Environmental Pillars in WCM
  • Motivated individual with strong self-directed capabilities as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to function in an environment of constant change and competing priorities.
  • Provide expertise and advice on EHS issues to area managers.
  • Maintain relationships with the community, environmental groups, or other stakeholders impacted by the EHS performance of the organization. Promote a culture in which Compliance/EHS partners with other groups (operations, Quality, etc.) to identify and resolve conditions that could negatively impact EHS.
  • Consistently mentors less experienced EHSS professionals.
  • Exceptional general problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive experience with all applicable regulations including federal, state and local laws and standards. (US EPA, SSHA, DOT, OSHA, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Stay current with environmental regulations so the organization's EHS policies remain current and relevant.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other business software applications.
  • ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 knowledge, creation of policy and Procedure. Implementation, internal and external audits, certification and maintenance of the programs..
  • Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Excellent executive written & verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Full understanding of both safety and environmental aspects of job
  • Manages complex issues within EHSS.
  • Identify competencies and deficiencies and establish goals to address.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Overtime hours are required as needed.
  • Position requires on-call availability to address support functions for the site.
  • This includes evenings and weekends on a routine basis.
  • Travel for meetings and training as required.
