Responsibilities:
Byers Engineering, a MasTec company, is seeking a full-time Permit Supervisor in support of a large-scale Telecommunications project. A Permit Supervisor serves as an integral member of the engineering team and will contribute to the success of our initiatives by permitting, overseeing the permit process and obtaining appropriate approvals. Requires knowledge of municipal processes, codes and ordinances, as well as frequent interface with local governments and jurisdictions. Must have good organization, professional communication, time management and relationship building skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Submitting permit application packages once QC’ed/approved/directed by Permitting Lead
- Communicate effectively with internal team
- Serve as liaison with internal resources to ensure permit applications are submitted in order and on time to meet the project schedule
- Provide follow-up to pending issues to ensure completion of tasks - internal and external
- Coordinate with permitting agencies to organize applications, adjust as desired, and resolve any issues preventing or delaying the permitting process
- Identify jurisdiction-specific requirements and provide that information to the team
- Monitor/track permit packages via online systems, email, or via phone as necessary
- Monitor project folders and effectively communicate the status of each permit with management and team
Qualifications:
Desired Skills:
- Understanding of Telecom, Fiber, and Outside Plant required
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent communication for daily interaction with various teams
- Above average penmanship for hand-drawn field notes
Qualifications:
- High school diploma and completed courses from technical school or community college preferred, but not required
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Qualify on pre-employment screening, including non-negligent driving record
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Willing to be trained and adapt to changing industry trends- continue education for Engineering design and best practices
Work Environment:
- Work schedule to match hours of our customer and meet deadlines
- Requires outdoor site visits in various weather conditions remote work
- Dress appropriately and meet safety standards while on-site
Compensation: $34/hr
