Byers Engineering, a MasTec company, is seeking a full-time GIS Technician in support of a large-scale Telecommunications project. As a GIS Technician I, you are responsible for ensuring the data follows standards and helping with quality control of data across all data products. You believe in doing the job right. In addition, you will:

• Manage difficult client situations; respond promptly to client’s needs; Solicit feedback to improve service; respond to requests for service and assistance; meet commitments
• Set and achieve challenging goals; demonstrate persistence and overcome obstacles; measure self against standard of excellence; take calculated risks to accomplish goals
• Follow policies and procedures; complete administrative tasks correctly and on time; support the organization's goals and values; benefit the organization through outside activities; support and respect diversity
• Troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field
• Learn and train to use various kinds of tools and equipment
• Prioritize and plan work activities; uses time efficiently; plan for additional resources; set goals and objectives; organize or schedule other people and their tasks; develop realistic action plans
• Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions; work well in group problem-solving situations; use reason even when dealing with difficult situations
• Develop strategies to achieve organizational goals; understand the organization's strengths & weaknesses; analyze market and competition; identify external opportunities; adapt strategy to rapidly changing conditions

• You have a bachelors in GIS, Geography, or a related field
• You have a strong fundamental understanding of GIS principles
• You want to make an impact with your local community and enjoy being home daily
• You possess strong editing knowledge
• Experienced with 3GIS, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Collector, or QGIS is required
• You are a strong problem solver
• You are a self-starter
• You are a fast learner
