Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General is Hiring a Paralegal General Counsel's Office Near Boston, MA

Paralegal Executive Bureau/General Counsel's Office Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is looking for a highly motivated person to join her team as a Paralegal to assist the General Counsel's Office in managing responses to public records requests throughout the Office and handling other selected projects.
Duties and Responsibilities: Under the direction of the General Counsel's Office (GCO), coordinate, facilitate, and track timely and appropriate responses to public records requests received by the Attorney General's Office (AGO). General duties include providing administrative support to the GCO and AGO attorneys in the area of public records and records retention. Specific tasks include: (1) opening intakes and performing preliminary analysis for incoming public records requests; (2) collaborating with the AGO divisions to identify, review, and assemble responsive records; (3) monitoring status of outstanding public records requests; (4) assisting in coordinating selected responses with Communications team; (5) preparing draft response letters; (6) assisting with the identification and redaction of confidential, privileged, private, or exempt documents; (7) maintaining information in a systematic way and performing measures to substantiate compliance with the Public Records Law, AGO standards, and records retention requirements; (8) overseeing the GCO's co-op/ intern; (9) collaborating with IT on maintaining and updating systems in order to support the functions of the office; (10) communicating with public records requestors; (11) conducting basic legal research and analysis; and (12) assisting with administrative and other duties, as needed.

Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
