MCLA seeks a temporary Clinical Supervisor and Staff Counselor to provide clinical oversight and quality assurance to unlicensed and licensed staff clinicians who provide student focused mental health care services. The supervisor is responsible for adherence to all applicable licensing, supervision, and documentation requirements and overseeing the timeliness and quality of a staff member's clinical work. They will promote and support the philosophy, policies, and procedures for comprehensive mental well-being services that incorporate equity, anti-oppression work, and social justice concepts and principles to support student well-being. They will assist in coordinating care and related client follow-up with medical professionals, mental health professionals, family, and other support networks. The Clinical Supervisor may perform other related tasks that are part of the department's operation, including developing and delivering communications or presentations.
DETAILED STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide direct, individual clinical supervision for licensed and unlicensed clinical staff
Monitor caseloads and ensure that supervisees comply with all clinical, legal, and ethical practices.
Review and co-sign supervisees' progress notes, clinical forms and correspondences when indicated.
Provides ongoing, regular feedback and evaluation to clinicians on the quality and timeliness of their clinical work as well as their caseload. Solicits feedback from clinicians regarding supervision and whether needs are being met.
Provide support, training, and remediation where needed to assist supervisees in meeting requirements, charting, record keeping, documentation standards and all other quality assurance standards.
Communicates any concerns about quality of clinician's work to Dean in a timely manner.
Ensures that clinicians comply with all legal and ethical practices, co-signs unlicensed clinicians' progress notes, clinical forms, and correspondence.
Facilitates group supervision or case-conferences as required.
Participates in meetings, administrative program meetings and trainings as required.

Provides counseling services to MCLA students, including individual, couples and group counseling, crisis intervention, and case management.
Provides consultation and referral services to the entire campus community, including faculty, staff, students, and support networks.
Consults with psychiatrist or prescriber in conjunction with prescribing and monitoring medications for clients.
Consults with families and supports, physicians, faculty, academic deans, residence life staff, off-campus counseling services, other campus offices and students, when appropriate, and with appropriate authorization to provide quality care to students.

Assumes after-hours on call responsibilities as needed.
Pursues opportunities for professional development and keeps up with relevant college student mental health trends and topics.
Conduct community-based intervention programming as requested to the campus community, including orientation sessions for new students and parents, informal support spaces, psychoeducational workshop presentations, and emergency support services.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Hold a completed master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field from an accredited program or doctoral level degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited program.
Currently licensed as an independent mental health provider (e.g., psychologist, licensed clinical professional counselor, or licensed clinical social worker) by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (i.e., at time of application, must have completed all licensure requirements including successfully passing any examinations and completing any clinical supervision hours required for licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts).
Five years of experience in counseling, including formulation and implementation of counseling services and supervision.
Demonstrated clinical skills compatible with a brief treatment model and experience in assessment, individual and group counseling, and crisis intervention.
Demonstrated commitment to creating a just and inclusive community, intercultural competency, and enthusiasm for working in an institution committed to social justice.
Experience working with diverse populations and at-risk individuals.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives, programs, and responsibilities while ensuring clinical excellence in the provision of direct services.
Demonstrated innovative leadership practices and exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of constituencies.
Ability to use sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive mental health issues with confidentiality and discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working in a college counseling center or clinical experience with the college population is preferred.
Knowledge of college student development and of the mental health issues specific to college students.
Knowledge of higher education principles, practices, and procedures.
