MCLA is accepting applications for an Associate Director of Admission, Partnerships and Outreach. The Associate Director of Admission, Partnerships and Outreach will work with the enrollment and admission teams to further MCLA's efforts to attract, enroll, and retain the most qualified undergraduate students and build community partnerships with a focus on working with specialized populations. They will be charged with developing and implementing strategies to convey key institutional messages to prospective students and parents on and off campus and to cultivate professional relationships with counselors and key educational organizations. They will support university efforts to attract and enroll key underrepresented populations, including first generation, transfer, and students of color.
DETAILED STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partnership/Outreach Development
Identify and implement admission strategies to effectively recruit specialized populations based on strategic enrollment goals with a focus on increasing applications and enrollments from historically underserved students with a specific focus on transfer, first generation and students of color.
Cultivate a diverse inclusive community by partnering with Community Based Organizations and Community Colleges to develop strong relationships that will provide opportunities for growth and sustained enrollment.
Develop and coordinate on and off campus programs that create increased awareness of MCLA within the New England, New York Metro and Mid-Atlantic regions with a focus on urban centers and community colleges.
Assist with the development of articulation agreements between MCLA and community colleges.
Contribute to the development and implementation of on-campus and off-campus programming and events for diverse prospective students.
Develop positive and on-going relationships with school counselors, community-based organization leaders, community college personnel and other key influencers.
Serves as the admission liaison for all Massachusetts Department of Higher Education transfer initiatives including but not limited to Mass Transfer, Commonwealth Commitment, and Reverse Transfer.
Attends regularly scheduled DHE transfer meetings on behalf of MCLA.
Works with the Office of the Registrar to update Mass Transfer course equivalencies, pathways, and maps.
Recruitment
Develop a robust and comprehensive territory management strategy annually that utilizes admission data to inform travel, scheduling, transportation, and accommodations.
Represent the College in a variety of settings such as community college presentations, transfer fairs, college night programs, on and off campus events, high school visits and mini high school fairs within designated territory.
Coordinate on-site admission and immediate decision days.
Aid prospective students and their families with all aspects of the admission process.
File Review
Evaluate first year and transfer applicants in an accurate and timely fashion, review academic credentials/calculate grade point average and render admissions decisions as mandated by the College's admissions standards.
Responsible for providing follow-up and advising students throughout the admission process.
Utilize student records system/admissions tracking to maintain application data in an accurate manner.
Responsible for updating student information with admissions decisions and statistical characteristics.
Utilize and become adept with the admissions Customer Relations Management software (CRM) to aid in outreach to all prospective students.
Manage awarding of scholarships, including merit based and foundation scholarships.
SUPPORTIVE DUTIES:
Assists other staff members with phone/office coverage when needed.
Serves as tour guide to prospective students, as needed.
Assist with campus and community programs and events.
Opportunities to be involved with committee work.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred.
Three to five years of college admission experience in a professional capacity preferred.
Experience working with diverse student populations.
Second language speaker preferred.
Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the recruitment seasons with availability for night and weekend work.
Strong written and oral communication skills, public speaking experience.
Quantitative skills and the ability to analyze data for purposes of admissions recruitment.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to be a self-starter who can work independently and work effectively with others to meet institutional enrollment goals.
Creatively and accurately articulate the goals of a liberal arts college.
Familiarity with MCLA and program offerings.
Valid driver's license.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, position in the APA bargaining unit. Salary range is $53,000-$60,000.
