Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.

A College Police Officer III/Sergeant (Officially Classified as Campus Police Officer III (CPOIII)) generally works as a patrol shift supervisor under the supervision of the Chief of Police and the Captain. A Sergeant is responsible for supervising MassBay Police Officers, Institutional Security Officers, and civilian staff and shall be held strictly accountable for their efficiency, discipline, appearance, and general good conduct. The Sergeant is a member of the supervisory team and will assume some administrative responsibilities of the MassBay Police Department. The Sergeant is expected to devote themselves to the community policing mission of the MassBay Department of Public Safety.
This position is considered "essential personnel" and requires you to report for duty when requested. MassBay Community College Police Officers must exercise clear quick thinking in emergencies and perform related work as required, establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with others, deal tactfully with others, interact with people who are under physical and or emotional distress, follow oral and written instructions, and be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and report for duty at any time when emergencies arise.

Additional Information:
Salary Range: AFSCME Unit II, Grade 19 Step 7 $75,609.56 annually. Appointments from outside the bargaining unit begin at Step 1 of the range.
