HEALTHCARE PROJECT ARCHITECT ROLE: Healthcare – Architect Level II / Architect Level III Job Summary: The Architect Level II / Level III will serve on primarily healthcare projects with our Rocky Mount office staff. Projects are of varying sizes and complexities. In this role, they will be responsible for specific technical design aspects of assigned projects, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client’s needs.
The Architect Level II / Level III is fully competent in all conventional aspects of architecture. They independently perform a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural designs for projects of moderate size and complexity. Requirements:
Minimum 8 years of architectural experience preferred. Healthcare experience, including work in Acute Care facilities, Ambulatory Care, and specialty care facilities preferred, but not required. A licensed Architect with a commitment to focus on Healthcare Architecture is also acceptable.
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited university or equivalent field of study.
Licensed Architect or in the process of obtaining architectural licensure.
Experience with Revit required. BIM 360 knowledge a plus.
Experience with graphics software such as SketchUp, Lumion, or Enscape is an advantage.
Thorough understanding of relevant codes such as IBC, state building codes, FGI Guidelines, NFPA, IBC, ANSI 117.1, BOMA.
Experience in the technical production of projects from planning and conceptual design through construction administration.
Ability to coordinate project design, develop creative-design concepts for projects, and prepare presentation and design drawings.
Strong organizational and time management abilities, and attention to detail.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work as a team member to achieve high output levels.
Self-directed; high energy level; high degree of personal initiative.
Residency in or near Rocky Mount, NC, Charlotte, NC or Charleston, SC is preferred, but not required.
If residency is not in or near Rocky Mount, ability to travel to our office in Rocky Mount when project requires (on average monthly basis).
Primary Responsibilities:
Provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, consultant coordination, construction documentation, and construction administration of projects.
Independently applies architectural concepts and designs.
Carries out assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
Manage / support project scope and objectives throughout the project lifecycle.
Comply with standard processes to drive effective project execution.
Affectively complete and assess their own work in a self-directed manner; understand and implement technical direction provided by Project Manager / Project Principal; be able to identify technical questions; and resolve technical questions in a self-directed manner in order to maintain productivity.
May provide technical guidance to less experienced architects/architectural staff depending on experience level.
Performs on-site existing conditions documentation and analyses.
Generally executes all aspects of drawing production under the direction and supervision of the Project Manager / Project Principal.
Generally able to execute effective design and production processes as directed by Project Manager / Project Principal.
