Company DescriptionOur client, a leader in pathology testing services, is opening up in Florida with their new lab located in Deerfield Beach. We are looking for a versatile Laboratory Director to help them set off their operations and ramp up quickly.The experienced Lab Director will be working with the management to utilize his/her expertise and build the facility ground up, collaborate and coordinate with SMEs, Laboratory Technicians and Supervisors to manage and oversee day-to-day laboratory operations and - by keeping in perspective company goals and objectives - ensure meeting highest standards and deliver the best quality of services to clients.Fully equipped with the latest analytical devices that are in use in the industry, our goal is to deliver high volumes of test cases, ranging between 7-10k samples a month. We’re targeting to build a team of 20 technicians lead by 2 Supervisors to start with and we aim to grow double in size by the end of 2016.Job DescriptionRequirementsMajor duties include but are not limited to:Work in consultation with the management in order to turn the facility into a fully functional testing laboratory. Maintain constant communication via various means including on-site correspondence, telephone and electronic channels.Create and maintain a physical laboratory environment that is appropriate for testing performances as well as being safe for employees against physical, chemical or biological hazards.Collaborate, coordinate, manage laboratory personnel, technicians and supervisors and assign them their respective duties, monitor their activities and assess their performances when necessary.Instruct laboratory personnel, technicians and supervisors on specified tasks on a daily basis and encourage laboratory best practices, ensure compliance with and establish company standards in terms of testing, verification, quality control, analytical and reporting practices.Ensure successful participation of the lab in proficiency testing program by meeting all requirements in terms of physical setup, necessary technicians and staff, testing standards, quality of delivery and reporting. Assign appropriate staff to evaluate the facility’s clinical performance, identify any drawbacks and take the necessary corrective measures before delivering the final report for approval.Assess and advise the management regarding available staff and the necessity for recruiting new talent for proper functioning of the lab.Ensure quality control and quality assurance programs are implemented and any deviations from established clinical performances are documented so that remedial actions can be applied in order to prevent its recurrence.Ensure proper reporting to clients by providing pertinent information, making consultation available to them regarding the quality of test results, the testing methodologies used, and their interpretations.Ensure proper supervision of testing activities by having test procedures manual written down, assigning lab supervisors for different tasks, monitor activities and assess performances. Ensure reports are evaluated and reviewed before handing over to the clients.Establish and maintain a client identifying system in order to keep records of client data, past testing and reporting. Establish methods for billing clients and maintain their records.QualificationsQualificationsM.D., D.O. with current medical license in state of laboratory's location and certified in anatomic and/or clinical pathology by APB or AOBP or equivalent qualifications.ORM.D., D.O. with current medical license in state of laboratory's location and laboratory training/experience consisting of:1 year directing or supervising non-waived testing or 20 CME credit hours in laboratory practice commensurate with director responsibilities. (Effective 08/02/93)OR equivalent laboratory training (20 CMEs) obtained during medical residency.Salary Range: 90K - 120k with all benefits includedAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
