1.0 FTE Continuing Position - 7.50 hours per day - 180 days per year
Positions will start the beginning of the 2018-2019 School Year.

PositionGoal:

Thisposition will provide quality teaching and learning at the preschool level byproviding intentional instruction at the classroom level. The successful candidate will implementdevelopmentally appropriate and quality instruction in all subject areasaligned with district standards and the state Early Learning Requirements.

MinimumQualifications:

  • ValidWashington State Teacher certificate with Special Education AND Early Childhood Special Education endorsements required
  • Bilingualpreferred
  • Experienceand/or knowledge of Common Core Standards required
  • Excellentoral and written communication skills
  • Successfulteaching experience at appropriate grade level preferred
  • Experienceand/or training with cultural, ethnic, and language diversity preferred
  • SuccessfulWashington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation FingerprintClearance
  • Proofof Immunization (if born 1/1/57 or later)
  • I-9Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigrations Reform and ControlAct
  • Completionof all district-required training within thirty (30) calendar days from hiredate

EssentialJob Functions:

This list of essential job functions is not exhaustive and may besupplemented as necessary. Dependingupon individual assignment, the employee may perform all or a combination ofseveral of the following duties:

  • Prepare teaching materials andreports for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and providingdocumentation of teacher and student progress
  • Plan, write, monitor, andimplement student IEP’s
  • Serve at IEP team lead in theprovision of special education students
  • Monitor student activities forthe purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment
  • Report incidents (child abuse,fights, substance abuse, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining personal safetyof students, providing a positive learning environment, and adhering toeducation code and district and school policies
  • Provide an exceptionaleducational experience to all students; communicate an enthusiasm for learning
  • Provide clear and focusedinstruction for all students by using a variety of teaching strategies to meetthe needs of all students to assure successful learning through a definedcourse of study
  • Advise parents and/or legalguardians of student progress for the purpose of supporting teacher’sexpectations, developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroomgoals in the home environment
  • Assess and monitor students forthe purpose of providing feedback to students, parents, and administrationregarding student progress, expectations, and goals by using qualityclassroom-based assessments
  • Collaborate with schoolpersonnel, parents, and various community agencies for the purpose of improvingthe quality of student outcomes, developing solutions, and planning curriculumand willingness to work with grade level team
  • Direct instructionalassistants, volunteers, and/or student aides for the purpose of providing aneffective school program and addressing the needs of individual students and besupportive of parent volunteers in the classroom
  • Utilize district adoptedcurriculum to guide instruction
  • Establish and maintainstandards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productiveenvironment for learning
  • Communicate regularly andpositively with parents
  • Maintain consistent presence at assigned worksite andregular work hours
  • Professionally interact with students, staff, and public
  • Establish and maintain professional contacts withstudents
  • Comply with alldistrict policies and procedures
  • Comply with theCode of Professional Conduct
  • Performrelated duties as assigned
