Marymount seeks an experienced, passionate, and knowledgeable science teacher for the Lower School. At Marymount, the Lower School science teacher connects student learning to the world around them using a child-centered, inquiry-based, and hands-on model of teaching. Our science curriculum includes challenging investigations that develop students' ability to solve problems, work collaboratively, and think critically. An ideal candidate demonstrates a joy for learning, subject mastery, an understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of science, differentiated teaching and learning strategies, and a commitment to meeting the needs and aspirations of each student. Candidates should be comfortable with integrating project work, as science partners with creative technology for the invention convention. Candidates should also embrace professional development as a means of building an innovative, equitable, and engaging classroom environment.
Master’s degree in teaching with a background in science or science education
Salary range: $70,000-90,000 annually
