DESCRIPTION
The MTA is recruiting for a Systems Team Manager. The System Team Manager is responsible for leading the management and operational coordination for all systems architecture of the agency. The position will lead a team of direct reports in the planning, directing, and controlling all activities necessary for the installation and maintenance of core hardware and software supporting the MTA’s server infrastructure. This position will report to Director of Technical Services and act as a technical advisor in the development of policies and standards for technology deployments, including development of Disaster Recovery plans, reporting on statistical and network activities. The Systems Team Manager will be responsible for providing high-level direction for the MTA IT/Systems Technology Infrastructure and other duties as assigned. This includes analyzing and evaluating network hardware, software, and equipment; recommending replacements to improve productivity and efficiency with the agency.
This position is considered essential and could be required to work beyond standard business hours, weekends, and holidays. This position is required to maintain continuous communication via cellphone and respond swiftly to critical system failures. In addition, this position requires participation in the on-call rotation schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
Ideal Candidate:
Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience: Seven years of experience in Information Technology with progressive responsibility. Two years of this experience must have involved executive and/or senior management level experience with one or more of the following: the supervision of other employees, overseeing the Information Technology infrastructure maintenance, compliance, and development.
Notes:
1. Additional experience in administrative or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Additional graduate-level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year-to-year basis for the required general experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
4. They must have the ability to lift 50 pounds, climbing, excessive standing, bending, operating a keyboard, electronic test equipment.
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
