Mary Kay Inc is Hiring a Mgr Manufacturing Warehouse Near Lewisville, TX

Manages Manufacturing Warehouse (including Work Order Management Team and Waste Disposal Management). Supports Manufacturing Operations in the production of > 13MM units per month of global cosmetic and OTC (over-the-counter) products. Meets operational objectives utilizing available machines, materials, methods, and manpower, contributes to ensuring safe working practices are followed, and drives standardization of the workplace. Shares ownership in achieving world-class performance and continuous improvement of processes. Accountable for helping to achieve strategies and goals of becoming the world-class, low-cost/high-quality producer of choice.

  • Manages the efforts of Warehouse and Work Order Management Team personnel in a cost-effective manner to meet operational objectives, maintain shipping and receiving schedules, provide timely support of Operations, and maintain inventory accuracy. Considers alternatives, often within specific time frames, when dealing with receiving concerns such as time-sensitive container delivery and hot deliveries to help meet production schedules. Considers the impact of service, quality, equipment and capability limits, and manpower utilization, all in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation). Analyzes needs and assigns departmental resources to maximize utilization of resources and optimize labor efficiencies. Performs periodic audits of control systems effectiveness to ensure desired results are achieved. Manages all overtime scheduling, ensuring compliance with fair and equitable overtime policies.
  • Performs standard managerial duties such as subordinate counseling preparation of departmental reports and budgets, and is responsible for overall Warehouse Management Operations change, strategy, and planning activities. Selects, trains, develops, motivates, counsels, and rewards staff to ensure achievement of operational goals. Approves all nonexempt hiring decisions and makes hiring recommendations for the Warehouse Supervisor position. Provides formal and informal training for subordinates regarding GMPs, Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) policy, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) company policies, and all operational aspects of warehouse inventory and materials handling, documentation, and management. Approves all formal disciplinary actions, including terminations of employees.
  • Manages daily quality and accuracy-related decisions and the most effective utilization of available resources. Responds quickly with innovative solutions to changes in materials management requirements or discrepancies/inaccuracies. Drives continuous improvement initiatives utilizing scientific methodologies such as Cause and effect, FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis, PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act), 5 Why’s, etc. Makes recommendations regarding capital expenditures, major policy or procedure changes, continuous improvement, and long-range plans to the Warehouse and Transportation Logistics department Head(s).
  • Manages the site waste disposal operation to ensure compliance with Company Policy and Federal, State, and local requirements.
  • Coordinates warehouse operations activities with various Manufacturing and Corporate departments, including planning and production operations to determine resources needed to support production demand. Interacts with Transportation and Logistics to coordinate receiving schedule, Supply Scheduling, Inventory Control, and ASRS to coordinate shipping and receiving of components, raws, and finished goods to branches, subsidiaries, and contract manufacturing. Quality to sample and approve received material, Purchasing to provide feedback to suppliers, and Transportation to provide feedback to carriers, Truck drivers making site deliveries, and members of the sales force returning product.
  • Analyzes departmental efficiencies (human and machine) and is directly accountable for the implementation of departmental methods, procedures, and standards to meet the overall goals of increased accuracy and labor efficiencies while managing cost and timeliness in task delivery to reduce production downtime. Initiates projects to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manages personnel to ensure proper and optimum utilization of equipment and personnel to minimize idle time, injuries, and waste. Monitors and enforces the usage of GMPs, SOPs, and Safety Practices and Waste Management Practices to meet regulatory requirements and company policies.

Experience: 7 years manufacturing, warehouse
Education: Bachelor Degree - Distribution Management, Business Management

  • Must have experience with warehouse data management systems (such as WMS, LIMS) to extract and analyze data to establish departmental metrics
  • Must have a complete understanding of a multi-shift, high-volume operation at multiple warehouse facilities, over-the-road materials movement, shipping, receiving, budget processes, and material handling systems and equipment.
  • Must have a complete understanding of the rules and regulations established for warehousing as described by EPA, DOT, OSHA, FDA, and GMP. Must be able to secure and maintain any and all training and/or certifications as required by governing regulations.
  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills in order to interface with staff and other departments.
  • Must have strong human relations skills in order to effectively manage staff activities.
  • Must have time-management skills and the ability to prioritize and schedule staff as needed.
  • Must have a sense of urgency to proactively resolve issues as they arise.
