Salary Range: $30.00 - $33.66 Per Hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sensitivity to cultural diversity of others
Maintains accurate and current school health information files on all children registered in the center-based program.
Maintains a log of any daily nursing or medical consultations.
Maintains on the front cover of each child's file a list of the child's allergy status and notifies each Teacher on the first day of school of any allergy.
Physically examines and determines health status for children on a daily basis as necessary. Available to assist Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) when requested or as assigned by Lead Nurse.
Administers medications as prescribed by the student's primary care physician.
Obtains and maintains accurate and current medication orders and parent permission.
Maintains medicine cabinet with all medically approved medications, supplies and equipment.
Provides appropriate and necessary nursing action at time of student injury and determines with the Social Worker the communication to the family.
Records all student/staff injuries on the appropriate accident/incident forms and processes the forms.
Instructs, annually, all staff in the Health and Safety Procedures and establishes appropriate reviews.
Acts in charge and carries out all procedures established in case of medical emergency. Delegates and directs the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in crisis situations.
Monitors the general health and safety standards used within the educational program.
Administers inoculations to staff and/or children as approved by the Medical Director.
Administers, interprets and documents TB screenings on designated staff as assigned by Lean Nurse.
Carries out all nursing responsibilities, including the lifting, moving and positioning of students.
Provides on site observations for students from an accredited Nursing School or other observations as assigned by the Education and Training Coordinator or Lead Nurse.
Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Registered Nurse: Associate’s degree (A.A.) in Nursing, Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Nursing is preferred; and six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
