Martin’s Home & Garden is looking for passionate individuals to join our full-service local garden center in Murfreesboro! We offer full- and part-time positions, weekday and weekend hours, employee discounts on all products, and employee appreciation events.
Market Sales Associate
Sales associates ensure a positive shopping experience for our customers. They are responsible for assisting customers as they shop and for helping to maintain their assigned department.
Please see our separate job description for sales associates in the Hard Goods Department if interested and the position is available. Sales associates report to the head of their assigned department.
This is currently a seasonal position, but there is the potential for longer-term employment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist customers in a positive and friendly manner in-person or over the phone
- Unload new inventory and help display products in an attractive and easy-to-shop manner
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Abilities
- Excellent communication skills with customers and employees
- Able to work independently and also be a team player
- Flexibility in all areas, including but not limited to: work schedule, duties and responsibilities, extreme weather conditions, etc.
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year in a nursery setting preferred
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift, pull, push at least 50-75 lbs
- Able to stand for an extended period of time
- Able to work in all types of weather
