We are filling the role of Director of Catering Sales. This is a leadership position that is responsible for the overall catering and events program in all markets (National). The primary purpose of this role is generating catering/events sales, securing new business, and maintaining repeat customers through aggressive proactive sales efforts in local, regional, and national markets

As our Catering Sales Director, you will:
  • Develop and execute a strategic catering plan to achieve revenue goals in each market.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Monitor market trends and community events and identify opportunities for business growth.
  • Proactively pursue leads through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls and written communication.
  • Developing new business opportunities to achieve/exceed revenue goals, forecast business volume to determine resource needs, and work alongside the marketing team to develop repeat customers and ideate creative ways to increase sales and engagement.
  • Actively pursue new business opportunities both locally and nationally, including visiting offices and businesses, universities, local events; continually seeking leads that will provide new catering/event opportunities.
  • Provide accurate and concise information to locations for all catering and event orders.
  • Manage and oversee the Catering Operations Team in all markets by providing day-to-day supervision and direction.
  • Assist Catering Operations Team with coordinating events, ensuring perfect execution.
  • Coach and develop catering operations team by inspiring high performing, multi-cultural and multi-generational teams that build talent pipeline.
  • Ensure all catering operations team members have career development plans in place that are actively supported for succession planning.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to determine how future events can be improved.
Catering Sales Director backgrounds should include:
  • 5 years of prior catering/event planning and/or sales and business development experience with a track record of accomplishments
  • 5 years of managing teams
  • Accountability - accepts responsibility; ability to find ways to turn problems into opportunities.
  • Ability to work autonomously with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Highly organized, can manage multiple projects, delegates freely with quality., easily adapts and responds to change,
  • Strong communication skills that engage people in a genuine, authentic way. Proactively connects to the team to drive behavior and results.
  • Disciplined approach to priority setting with the ability to identify the root cause of catering operations and people opportunities and move quickly to improve performance.
  • Proficient computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Meeting/exceeding annual P&L objectives with a primary focus on top-line sales, productivity, and production management.
  • Personal characteristics reflective of The Salty: high-energy, action oriented, self-motivated, positive, and humble attitude, service-focused, flexible, fun-loving personality, and ethical with a high degree of integrity.
  • Flexibility to work during weekends and holidays.
