Job Description
Under the direction the President & CEO and aligned with the Christian mission of the Great Miami Valley YMCA Association, the Director of Human Resources & Talent Management holds a pivotal role within the organization's leadership team. This position oversees key functions including personnel management, recruitment, training, organizational development, and compensation and benefits administration. Collaborating closely with the Board of Trustees, President, Branches, staff, and volunteers, this individual provides strategic guidance and operational support to ensure the effective implementation of the Association's personnel policies and practices.
Qualifications
1.Education: Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or equivalent required. Senior human resources certification preferred (SPHR or equivalent or willingness to attain at YMCA expense).

2.Three to five years of professional experience in human resources management is preferred.

3.Knowledge of human resource planning, selection, compensation, benefits, training, personnel policy, human resources information systems, payroll systems, and performance management.

4.Knowledge of related laws and regulations

5.Ability to establish an effective working relationship with volunteers and staff at all levels of the association.

6.Must have good verbal and written communication skills.

7.Must be able to independently develop solutions to problems and work with people in all levels of the Association.

8.This position calls for discretion due to confidential and sensitive nature of payroll and personnel correspondence files.

9.It is necessary that she/he have a clear understanding of the relationship of the general public to the Association, of staff to volunteer, and of intra-staff actions. Incumbent must be able to guide or direct all actions within a continuing consciousness of the operating objectives of the Association as defined in the Association Strategic Plan.

10. Must be able to handle multiple tasks and be able to work heavily with staff and volunteers.

11. Must be creative and able to project enthusiasm to board, staff, members, and program participants.
Essential Functions
1.Ensures accuracy and effectiveness of the human resource information system and personnel records to meet organizational needs.

2.Oversees the management of enrollment and administration for flexible benefits, paid time off, retirement, and other benefit programs.

3.Maintains a robust program to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, meeting YMCA and legal reporting requirements, and submits necessary reports and surveys.

4.Administers and upholds the Personnel Policy to ensure consistency and fairness across the organization.

5.Manages accident reporting and claims for staff, collaborating with the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation.

6.Provides timely employment verification as required.

7.Coordinates with the court system on garnishments and child support matters.

8.Manages day-to-day personnel functions and addresses employee relation issues to foster a positive work environment.

9.Develops and implements strategies to drive a positive work culture, promoting employee engagement and morale.

10.Administers the salary administration program, including job description and classification, salary structure, and increases, informed by salary survey data.

11.Conducts benefits orientation for new full-time employees and facilitates benefits enrollment.

12.Oversees the COBRA program for eligible employees.

13.Coordinates and facilitates staff retreats, ongoing training programs, and performance evaluation sessions.

14.Monitors the Unemployment Insurance program and handles specific claims and issues as they arise.

15.Manages the new hire paperwork process, ensuring completeness and collaborating with branches to obtain missing information.

16.Develops and implements employee recognition and appreciation programs and conducts studies and projects on various human resource matters.

17. Providesupport and guidance to employees and supervisors on HR-related questions and issues.

Performs other duties as assigned by the CEO, adapting to changes in business needs.
