Marshall University is Hiring a Peer specialist Near Huntington, WV

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities :

Working with the Transitional Age Youth (TAY) Team, the Peer Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert in peer models and youth empowerment.

The individual must work well with young people and provide peer-to- peer services, encouragement, planning and support.

The individual will partner with schools, youth serving agencies and community partners to champion a healthy life and stable career pathway for younger adults aged 18-25.

This position will be remote but must be able to drive to locations in the Cabell County community.

  • Work collaboratively with schools, social services, local youth serving organizations to engage youth in the Leve / Up program to increase positive health and career outcomes
  • Provide peer to peer services to support plan development and program success
  • Participate in all TAY Team meetings, trainings, and conferences as an active member of the team
  • And other duties as assigned to meet the project / grant goals and deliverable.

Location OTHR - Other Off-Campus Location Salary Range $35,000-$40,000- Salary is commensurate with experience and internal equity Required Qualifications Education

High School Diploma or GED required

Experience

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Expertise in developing and delivering professional learning opportunities
  • Knowledge of best practice strategies of youth lead prevention
  • Ability to schedule, organize and perform multiple assignments while working collaboratively with multiple groups
  • Good communication skills, oral and written, and excellent presentation skills using current technologies
