Job Description
The assistant teacher is responsible for assisting in providing a safe and developmentally appropriate early childhood program in accordance with all relevant licensing, policies, and procedures.
The classroom will be hosted on Marshall University’s Huntington Campus and will be operated by the June Harless Center.
Responsibilities of the position include :
1. Support the lead teacher in implementing a developmentally appropriate early childhood program that aligns with the current state standards.
2. Supervise children in the classroom and maintain health / safety protocols.
3. Communicate with families and members of the community.
4. Assist in providing high-quality early learning experiences based on children’s innate interests and curiosities while utilizing the community as a resource for exploration.
5. Participate in professional development related to Reggio Emilia inspired classrooms, STEAM concepts in early childhood, and developmentally appropriate programming for young children
6. Perform other duties as assigned by lead teacher and early childhood coordinator.
Qualifications :
Location MU - Marshall University Salary Range $23,000-$27,500- Salary is commensurate with experience and internal equity Required Qualifications Education
