Description
Marshall Farms is looking for a Qualified Electrician to join our team. This individual will be responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of various types of electrical systems and equipment. Including but not limited to, installation of raceways, installation of devices and equipment for new construction or existing buildings, for power distribution, communication systems, fire alarm systems, security systems at Marshall Farms and its subsidiaries as needed.
This position is a grade F4 with a pay range of $19.51 - $29.27.
Essential Tasks:
Requirements
Education and Experience:
Minimum of 2 years education/experience that demonstrates proficiency in principles and practices of commercial electrical construction, maintenance, and repair. Basic computer skills may be required for email, Word, Excel, workorder system, etc. Requires valid NYS driver’s license.
Competency Requirements
· Individual is capable of effectively and consistently performing essential tasks daily.
· Ability to keep abreast with changes to the National Electrical Code, State & Local building codes.
· Combine manual/specialized skills and knowledge of electrical methods, materials and concepts to efficiently complete tasks daily.
· Ability to work efficiently and safely independently or with others.
· Ability to work offsite unsupervised.
· Must be well organized and able to prioritize work.
· Ability to operate various types of vehicles / equipment safely. (Box van, trucks, scissor lifts, man-lifts, forklift, etc.)

Individual will contribute to a productive and professional environment by setting a positive example and demonstrating enthusiasm, diligence, and ethical behavior and by taking responsibility for ones’ actions and challenging oneself to continually improve and do quality work in a timely manner.
Work Conditions:
Work completed both indoors and out at new construction, existing sites and all property owned by Marshall Farms and its subsidiaries. Individual may be subject to inclement weather conditions when working outdoors. Conditions inside animal buildings are often hot, humid, dusty and dirty, including manure. Work area may have a high level of noise requiring earplugs. Duties are performed primarily on 1st shift with varying extended hours including occasional weekend work, emergency situations, required to be part of an on-call rotation and willing to be part of snow removal team if needed. Out-of-town travel to other facilities may be required for multiple days which may involve overnight stay near the local facility. Must be clean shaven or willing to shave at a moment’s notice to properly wear a respirator / N95 mask if needed. Required to adhere to Barrier Affidavit requirements.
Physical Requirements:
Physical requirements include considerable use of arms and legs including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling of materials. Work may be strenuous at times and include bending conduit, lifting heavy objects, and standing, stooping, and kneeling for long periods of time. This position requires manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and physical fitness. Good color vision is needed to identify electrical wires by color. Ability to work at various heights and in confined spaces.
Mental Requirements:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and various levels of management if needed. Ability to apply problem solving skills and know when something is beyond one’s capabilities and request help from other qualified employees when needed.
