Duties and Responsibilities
Understand and adhere to all company safety procedures and participate in regular periodic Environmental, Health, and Safety training.
Able to do electrical equipment installations, calibrations, inspections, and troubleshooting tasks to minimize production impacts and enhance the reliability of the operation.
Applies understanding and knowledge of plant systems, burner controls, turbine controls, data acquisition, process controls, regulating devices, etc.
Able to communicate and work with the team for minor mechanical and electrical jobs.
Ability to utilize and understand Rockwell software (RS Logix 5000, RS Linx) to communicate to PLC systems, along with being able to program using ladder logix, and Function block code.
Ability to utilize and understand Siemens software (Simatic Step7) to communicate to PLC systems, along with being able to program using ladder, and Function block code.
Technical knowledge of Industrial communication protocols especially Ethernet IP. Able to understand IP addresses and use them to potentially add equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot fiber runs and understand the use of fiber converts to extend different protocols around the plant.
Able to understand electrical schematic drawings of different types of PLC equipment.
Ability to configure and troubleshoot instrumentation using vendor-type software and hart communications.
Able to work with various types of electrical equipment which includes motor starters, VFDs, soft starters, electrical valves, limit switches, etc.
Qualifications
Experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC systems
Experience with steam turbine and electric gen sets preferred
Leadership experience preferred
Expert-level technical skills with troubleshooting instrumentation and PLC equipment.
Technical understanding of boiler controls and boiler burner management systems
Technical knowledge of turbine controls and power generation systems.
Working conditions
The position may require weekend and/or holiday work.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to moderately loud.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include correctable vision to complete work safely.
