Marqeta is Hiring a Remote Senior Data Scientist
Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist interested in solving complex problems to support the creation of new data offerings and expansion of existing offerings. You will be on our data analytics / data science team and work with our product, data engineering, data science, and accounting teams to enable data-driven decision making. You will reconcile 3rd party data sources against internal assets at scale. You will implement data quality checks as accuracy matters. You will have an eye towards automation and process improvement. You will ideate and create solutions for our clients' data analytics needs, creating metrics, dashboards, reports, and alerts to provide stakeholders with actionable insights.
Primary Responsibilities
Create reports, dashboards, data feeds, workflows, and data APIs
Analyze data sources to determine appropriate methodologies
Reconcile internal data assets with 3rd party sources
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly validations to ensure data integrity
Support technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand Marqeta’s product performance via data
Data quality analysis, workflow management, respond to data inquiries
Identify and escalate risks or potential issues
Ask questions and communicate clearly and effectively with customers
Requirement
5 years experience working with large data sets using SQL
Experience overlaying disparate data sources in reconciliation systems
Ability to partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Research new tools and methods to improve functionality and enhance productivity
Seeks and provides constructive feedback to team members & stakeholders
Nice to Have
Experience with accounting, finance, or other FinTech products
Experience creating efficient tables in Snowflake
Experience with git, GitHub, and the pull request workflow
Experience building customer facing data solutions (such as through Tableau or Looker)
