Marlen International Inc is Hiring a Sanitation - Food Processing Equipment Near Riverside, MO

We have an immediate opening for a Shop Helper to support our Solutions Center in our Riverside, MO facility.

This position description identifies the major responsibilities of this job. It does not include all aspects of the position such as the potential additional duties assigned by supervisors and the requirement for flexibility in helping others for the company's overall benefit.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the general cleanliness and upkeep of the Solution Center and surrounding areas. The assembly and readiness of equipment related to application testing may also be required as required. Therefore, some technical aptitude and mechanical skills would be helpful but not required.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Solution Center Manager with preparation of demo equipment for testing according to customer/application requirements and Demo Readiness Checklist(s).
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and sanitary Solution Center and adjacent supporting areas.
  • Clean demo equipment and associated tools and components in a timely manner pre- and post-demonstration.
  • Monitor stock and fulfillment of solution center supplies (hairnets, beard nets, shoe covers, gloves, cleaning chemicals, dish soaps, hand sanitizers, cleaning brushes, brooms, packaging supplies, shipping supplies, etc.)
  • Assist in organizing storage of inedible proteins/test media after completion of demo, FAT or product development tests and manage disposal for rendering or garbage.
  • Assist In documenting, preparing, and crating equipment for shipping to in-plant customer demonstrations.
  • Maintain demo area including organization of equipment and accessories and report any issues to Solution Center Manager.
  • Clean and inspect equipment prior to shipping to customer locations and upon return to Riverside.
  • Support service and engineering (when requested) with FAT activities, including cleaning, raw material preparation, etc.
  • Monitor and maintain stationary building mechanicals in relation to solution center operation.
  • Preparation of equipment and accessories for display at tradeshows and exhibitions as needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent attitude and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Technical aptitude and mechanical abilities would be desired but not a requirement.
  • Considerable physical activity including heavy lifting, pushing or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in an environment involving exposure to potentially dangerous chemicals that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment
  • Ability to work in cold and wet environments for extended periods
  • Ability to understand both verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in high stress situations
  • Ability to be certified for and drive a forklift

OTHER

Physical and Environmental Requirements: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, squat, crawl, climb, and work at heights. The employee is constantly required to walk and do repetitious turning and twisting with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally reach high and low and lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.

Work environment includes industrial manufacturing. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Temperatures vary from cool to hot as production area is not completely temperature controlled and work may be performed in cold room environment.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
