Marketplace Homes is a well-established hybrid brokerage and property management company with over 14,000 completed transactions and counting. We currently manage thousands of homes in over 35 states and assist the nation’s top home builders in closing deals.

We are growing and hiring a Controller with a strong accounting and management background to join our company.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and profitability
• Manage a small team of employees responsible for financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation.
• Govern accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Enforce staff compliance with company policies and state and federal laws
• Extensive experience with trust accounting best practices and regulations
• Participate as an active member in overseeing corporate strategy for 70 employees
• Create and present financial and tax strategy recommendations to CEO
• Oversee cash flow, cash management, working capital, and company audits
• Prepare financial statements and reports
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making
• Ensure legal compliance on all financial functions
• Manage relationships with banks and other financial vendors

Who You Are

The ideal Controller will have excellent analytical, strategic planning, operational, managerial, and communication skills. Candidates with a combination of industry and public accounting knowledge are preferred. This is the perfect role for an experienced Controller or somebody looking to take the next step for a challenging role at an established company. Your expertise should include:

• 10 years of experience in accounting, preparing complex financial statements, and finance
• 5 years working specifically with the real estate, property management, or brokerage industries
• Excellent analytical skills to interpret financial data and develop strategies to improve financial performance
• Experience in financial reporting and analysis
• Ability to guide team members in accounting and ensure compliance with financial regulations
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy per industry requirements
• CPA qualification or equivalent required
• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Administration with a concentration in Finance or Accounting
• Master's Degree preferred

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
