The Accounting Specialist position, Uplinq's title for a staff accountant, is perfect for someone looking to develop as a professional in the FinTech space. Things you will do:

• Be part of a team that handles weekly bookkeeping for all clients in tandem with our technology solution and system — this includes but is not limited to categorization, job costing, reconciliation, POS system setup, QBO integration setup, and AR/AP work
• Prepare timely and complete financial statements
• Support company onboardings, reviews, and other client lifecycle events
• Communicate and meet with clients to answer questions, gather information, and explain financial data if needed
• Complete the year-end close process to ensure the timely close of financial statements
• Collaborate to provide outsourced accounting services and financial reporting
• Work to continuously develop and perfect Uplinq's automated bookkeeping and support Uplinq's business intelligence solution
• Share responsibility for testing the financial feasibility of future financial goals of the product

What we are looking for:

• 3-5 years of experience with cash and accrual accounting through categorization, reconciliation, financial statement preparation, write-up, and compilation. Some public accounting firm experience is preferred.
• Critical thinking and problem solving abilities — you are comfortable working with the unknown, learning, and solving bookkeeping challenges.
• Experienced and comfortable working in fast-paced environments and have the business acumen to take complex data and simplify it for company owners.
• Strong technical skills pertaining to full-charge bookkeeping, accounting services, and reconciliations.
• Attention to detail & ability to adopt new tools and methods quickly.
• The ability to meet deadlines.
• The ability to communicate complex data in a clear way.
• Exceptional organization skills.
• Customer service skills.
• Reconciliation ability with various data sources.
• Willing to be mentored as well as mentor others.
• Experience drafting financial statements with applicable disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

Other Qualifications:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, math, finance, or economics is highly preferred
• Open to candidates without a formal education in the areas listed above, but with significant accounting experience. Please be sure to highlight this in the application questions and your resume or cover letter.

Experience

• 3-5 years experience in public accounting or finance, managing accounting and financial operations.
• Significant experience with QuickBooks Online and experience adapting to new processes and software very quickly
