MARK S BRIGHAM DO INC is Hiring a Billing Assistant And Receptionist Near Wadsworth, OH

Mark S Brigham Do Inc in Wadsworth, OH is looking for one insurance precertification specialist to join our 12 person strong team. We are located on 195 Wadsworth Rd Ste 401. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, and engaged.

This individual will have a passion for the healthcare field and is someone who can commit to personal accountability and integrity. An ideal candidate will also have excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to collaborate and work in a team based environment.

The position schedules outpatient and inpatient procedures and communicates necessary prep information, collection of co-pays and deductibles, and pre-registration to patients. As a team player, this position will also assist at check-in and check-out as well as answering phones from day to day.

Responsibilities

Billing Assistant:

    *Answering all billing questions to patients or staff by phone or in person. *Contacting delinquent patient accounts on a daily basis as requested by the billing manager. *Calling patients regarding past due balances, coordination of benefits, insurance updates, and payment arrangements. *Requests copayments and/or patient balances in a tactful firm manner. *Maintains control and processing of auto withdrawals safely and securely. *Calling insurance companies regarding billing issues with patient eligibility and coordination of benefits. *Calling insurance companies regarding denied claims or claims inquiry. *Maintain control of daily patient billing statements, reviewing for accuracy, printing of delinquent letters, and mailing. *Reviewed patient accounts and demographics for completeness and accuracy. *Make allergy department aware of any delinquent allergy patients and/or information requests needed. *Maintain patient pre-collections as designated by the billing manager. *Establish payment plans as outlined by the billing manager. *Give patient's receipts and safeguards monies appropriately; initialing receipts. *Posting of all patient payments to proper accounts, including co-pays and balances due. *Notify billing manager of patient accounts with credit balances and approval for transfer. *Giving all monies, receipts copies, and balanced controls to billing manager at end of the day. *Checks billing voicemails throughout the day and returns all messages. *Review delinquent patient accounts for collections process and report to billing manager. *Monitor patient Accounts Receivable numbers to not exceed 90 days and report to billing manager. *Biweekly meetings with billing manager and/or physician for updates on follow-up of accounts receivables.


Receptionist
:

*Schedule all follow-up visits or recalls in accordance with office/physician scheduling guidelines at time of checkout. *Answer incoming patient phone calls, rerouting of any non-appointment request to the check-in receptionist or medical assistant for refills. Schedule appointment requests for established and new patients. *Collect copayments and patient balances at the time of checkout. *During downtime at check-out or check-in, perform any billing assistant duties as able. *Scheduling patient appointments
    - explaining to patients which pieces of info they are to bring, provides patients several scheduling options, and stays within physician approved scheduling guidelines. *Balancing cash box when opening and before leaving and signing the cash box balance sheets. *Covers check-in and check-out office positions for vacation, sick time, etc. as requested by the physician or billing manager, including non-regular working days. *Cross cover for the billing manager when necessary. *Facilitates any physician and/or billing manager requests throughout the day. *Maintains patient confidentiality. *Attends all regular staff meetings as scheduled. *Attends continuing education sessions as required.

Qualifications

*1 to 2 years experience working in a medical practice setting. *Computer literate with typing skills. *Proven track record of establishing relationships with patients. *Working knowledge of the medical office - familiarity with patient billing and scheduling. *Pleasant speaking voice and demeanor. *Strong written and verbal skills. *Neat, clean, professional appearance. *Attendance and punctuality are a must. *Understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding for the specialty. *Working knowledge of managed care
    - overall understanding of HMO and PPO insurances. *Basic math skills; proven success asking for payments, making change, and balancing a cash drawer, etc. *Proven experience handling upset patients and dealing with conflict.


Location & Hours

    *In office - Wadsworth Ohio *Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday (Thursday's off) *9:00am - 5:00pm *Part-time, Day Shift

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Compensation is $12.00 - $15.00/hour.
