This position is located at Camp Pendleton, CA. Candidates selected for this position will serve as a Human Resources Generalist, NF3.

Positions at this level perform technical support work in one or more personnel specialties such as classification, staffing, employee relations, employee development, labor relations, and EEO. Typical assignment(s) include: (1) gathering facts involving routine disciplinary or work performance issues, discussing issues with managers and employees, and assisting in drafting reprimands and disciplinary actions; (2) analyzing jobs, applying grading criteria that have standard patterns, and recommending classifications; (3) developing job vacancy announcements and reviewing and job applicants for a variety of jobs, determining eligibility or evaluating the relative value of an applicant¿s qualifications according to established credited plans procedures, etc. Positions may also be responsible for drafting local procedural instructions relating to the functional specialty.
Provides assistance in administering the employee benefits program, i.e. Group Health, Dental & Life Insurance, 401(K) Savings Plan, Group Retirement Plan, Workers¿ Compensation, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Leave Donations, and Casualty Assistance, and Employee Performance Awards Program. Processes and maintains records necessary to implement and track benefit related matters. Maintains a high degree of contact with employees and provides advice and assistance to employees regarding employee benefit problems and issues. Conducts research and identifies and explains complicated and in depth employee benefit related issues such as health benefits conversion and complicated annuity calculations and information. Conducts orientation classes, briefings, and seminars. Reviews related rules, regulations, and internal instructions for comments. Explains rules and regulations to employees pertaining to assigned functions.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.
Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
A minimum of three years human resources or administrative experience. Knowledge of Marine Corps NAF policies procedures and/or MCCS experience is preferred. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.

STEP 3 - Military Spousal Preference may be requested for positions NF-3 and below, Crafts and Trades (NA, NL, NS), and Child & Youth (CY) positions. Spouses must meet the minimum qualifications posted in the job announcement. Spouse preference eligibility begins 30 days before the reporting date to the new duty location. Spousal Preference applicants hired in a flexible position will not lose their spousal preference eligibility until converted or hired into a regular full-time or part-time position or is within a 60 day period of receiving new PCS Orders.

1. Furnish a copy of the PCS orders with reporting date to the new duty station and authorized move with spouse. If the spouse is not listed on the PCS orders, the spouse must provide documentation (i.e. marriage certificate, valid military ID, etc.) verifying marriage prior to PCS orders (must have been married to the military sponsor before relocation to the new duty station).
