Founded in 1915, Marietta Country Club is a member-owned club in Kennesaw, Georgia, located 28 miles from downtown Atlanta. The Club features 27 spectacular holes of Robert Cupp-designed golf, offering challenging risks and rewards for golfers of all skill levels. Set on historic farmland, the Club's "three nines" yield vistas of Kennesaw Mountain, beautiful lakes, ponds, and streams.
The Tennis facility includes 8 immaculately maintained HydroCourt clay courts and 4 all-weather Laykold hard courts. Job Summary
The Director of Communications and Member Activity is responsible for effectively communicating via the written word, website, MCC Journal, and social media platforms to distribute news from all departments of Marietta Country Club. This position involves heavy interaction with club members, staff, and the management team and is responsible for the planning and execution of all member events. This position also manages the Front Desk Receptionists and is responsible for the club’s reservation system which includes all member dining and club events. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with contagious energy and the ability to create, market, and orchestrate memorable experiences for our membership. This position requires a passion for creative thinking, collaboration, and service.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Interacts with our members and staff to create and foster open lines of communication.
  • Builds and maintains a content distribution network by way of social media.
  • Builds and maintains a content distribution network and manages the club’s presence through Blogs, Instagram, Facebook, and other strategically relevant online/social communities.
  • Writes blog posts, articles, newsletters, push notifications, communication materials, and material for social media channels.
  • Provides administrative support to the Clubhouse Manager and General Manager as needed.
  • Collaborates with department heads to write/edit the material for the MCC Journal and the MCC App.
  • Coordinates material and correspondence for the Communication and House Committees.
  • Records, reviews, and distributes minutes for House and Communication Committee meetings.
  • Creates strategic marketing/communications plans for key club events/initiatives.
  • Responsible for photographing special events and tournaments within the Club.
  • Coordinates and orchestrates member social events.
  • Enhances the member experience by providing exciting and creative club functions.
  • Produces diagrams and seating charts for all Club Function events.
  • Assists in the Catering department when necessary.
  • Designs programs, menus, brochures, flyers, posters, and general signage.
  • Works with the Clubhouse Manager and department representatives as needed to design and produce written works.
  • Updates and maintains Club marketing documents.
  • Maintains a reservation system for all dining and club events.
  • Directly supervises all Front Desk Receptionists including scheduling, training, and managing time-off requests.
  • Provides relief at the Reception Desk when needed.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • College degree required in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Hospitality or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of professional communication experience.
  • One or more years’ experience of scheduling and managing staff.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms.
  • Computer literacy with proficient skills of entire MS office is required, with the ability to learn programs as needed.
  • Familiarity with design procedures.
  • Above-average photography skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with above-average typing skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented and work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Possess the aptitude for creativity and thinking outside the box.
  • Must be able to work as a team member.
  • Frequent sitting and repetitive actions.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, lifting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.
Work Hours
This is a full-time position which requires a five-day work week. Some work may include holidays, weekends, evenings, and nighttime hours.

Manages and Supervises
Full-Time and Part-Time Front Desk Receptionists.
