sition: Summer Camp Instructor

Position summary :
We are seeking an enthusiastic Camp Instructor to join our team for an exciting summer camp program. As a Camp Instructor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and memorable experience for campers.
The Camp Instructor is a certified classroom teacher who will plan and implement a camp curriculum appropriate for rising 1st-5th graders that meets the mission of Marie Selby Botanical Gardens while incorporating both art and science activities. The Camp Instructor will work with the Director of Education to create the curriculum, plan activities, and organize materials. The Camp Instructor is responsible for delivery of content, safety and behavior management of the campers, and contact with parents when needed. Camp Instructors will be considered temporary employees of Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, and as such must submit to and pass drug screening, fingerprinting and a Level 2 background check.
Payment is $20/hour for the hours of 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday weekly. Reasonable planning and prep time in April/May before camp begins is also compensated. Camp Lookout 2024 will consist of 4 one-week sessions from June 3 - 28 at the Downtown Sarasota Campus.
