This role ensures that all tasks are performed in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Experience One (1) year of experience in coordinating and administering public programs and services. OR Combined education and experience qualifications Post-secondary education may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis. Other requirements Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire. Training that may be provided on-the-job: FEMA NIMS – IS100 and 700; Safety; Payroll; PREA. Prior to hiring, the Sheriff's Office requires that all candidates pass a background review. Coordinates, administers plans, develops, and implements inmate programs in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures in partnership with Program Supervisor. Evaluates, develops, and distributes program curriculum/materials; implements changes as necessary. Plans, organizes, and conducts special events, projects, and ceremonies. Prepares regular reports and collects data regarding inmate program progress and recidivism rates. Prepares and provides recommendations for programs, supplemental programs, and related activities. Uses a computer to create, maintain or query program records, information, or data. Maintains statistical data for grants as required. Surveys inmate populations and communicates with outside agencies and vendors to assess programming needs. Assesses eligibility of inmates for program participation. Assists with the development and implementation of inmate transition programs. Participates and makes recommendations with selection and hiring process. Researches, responds to, and resolves complaints/concerns from inmates regarding program operations. Ensures that non-office personnel working with the program are cleared for jail access. Participates in training for detention and civilian staff. Represents the Division at meetings, conferences, hearings, and other related events; serves on committees as necessary. Acts as liaison and coordinates with other County departments such as Adult Probation, Elections, Public Defender’s Office, Juvenile Probation, and other criminal justice agencies as directed by supervisor. Recommends updates for the Division Operational Manual and Volunteer Handbook. Works with Program Supervisor to ensure that programming is evidence based or has sound foundations for implementation, inmates are screened based on eligibility criteria, and all programs and reentry services align with the principles outlined by MCSO. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Maintains good attendance to perform tasks as scheduled and assigned by the supervisor.
