Job Summary

Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) is seeking a Public Relations and Marketing Director who provides visionary leadership for public relations, marketing, and communications functions in alignment with the college's strategic vision and mission. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Administrative Services, this position will lead a team to develop and implement effective and comprehensive marketing strategies designed to increase PVCC's brand awareness and student enrollment as well as encourage partner engagement to advance new/existing programs and services. Directs internal/external communications, marketing campaigns, digital and social media initiatives, and works in alignment with the Maricopa Community College District.
The Public Relations and Marketing Director will also demonstrate constructive team-building principles, a dedication to putting students first, and a commitment to serving diverse and non-traditional college students. The Director provides leadership and strategic decision-making and demonstrates a commitment to student success, diversity, service excellence, innovation, and collaboration. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, and is an effective partner to a diverse population of administrators, faculty, staff, district colleagues, and the public. To best serve the students, department, and college, this position requires a physical presence on campus.
Essential Functions

40% Redefine/reimagine PVCC's current brand strategy and drive that strategy to ensure alignment with the strategic plan and to increase enrollment, persistence, and graduation rates. Provides leadership for the marketing team that executes all aspects of public relations, marketing, and internal and external communications. Creates and implements communication plans, leads the marketing team in creating, managing, and administering all marketing, branding, and advertising strategies, produces and/or directs the creative development of all print and digital materials including the social media presence. Supervise marketing staff and marketing external contractors.
30% Content development to ensure that all public relations, proposals, qualification packages, presentations, and general marketing materials are competitive, portray our brand, and are best in class. Sends out press releases to all media contacts; collaborates effectively with all areas of the college to ensure branding and message is clearly defined and distributed across internal and external media platforms, channels, and targeted audiences. Responsible for all crisis communication.
20% Collaborates with all college areas to develop clear communication and promotional
strategies; informs and consults with executive leadership regarding strategy, outcomes, trends
and offers suggestions and input for continuous improvement. Works collaboratively with Maricopa Community College District Marketing to ensure alignment with and support of District Initiatives.
10% Creates a culture of data-driven, high-impact marketing practices. Manages all data analytics related to marketing, including google analytics, social media data, digital advertising analytics, etc, performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in public relations, marketing, journalism or related field and five years of public relations and marketing experience that includes planning, managing and implementing associated programs and marketing campaigns and two years of management and supervisory experience.
OR
An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.
Desired Qualifications
  1. Master's Degree or higher in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or other closely related field
  2. Supervision experience leading a marketing team and overseeing the development and execution of the marketing strategy to include working with external contractors.
  3. Experience with optimizing online content through social media management, web design/content, email marketing, and digital advertising
  4. Experience with managing the public relations communication in an enterprise level organization and /or public sector
  5. Experience with analyzing marketing data and analytics, social media data, digital advertising analytics to enhance the colleges' marketing efforts
  6. Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity in marketing messaging and efforts
