Position:Audio/Visual & Game Technician

Job Summary:

Responsible for setting up, installing, operating, testing and troubleshooting audio and video equipment. The A/V Game Technician oversees all aspects of the A/V requirements throughout the Resort in alignment with the vision and direction of the Company, brand requirements, and local, state and national regulations. Monitors all event, entertainment and activities to ensure adherence to rules and safety procedures. When not setting up for an event, entertainment, meeting, or other related activity, this position will work as a game technician in the Family Entertainment Center. Assist with performing predetermined test, trouble shoots and checks on specific machines for identified problems as reported by FEC team members. Ordering of parts and equipment for game and equipment repairs and maintenance in a cost effective way that adheres to Company Standards and Policies. Adheres to department budget. Responsible for the clean, safe fun environment of the Resort operation. Attends periodic meetings and training sessions. Welcomes and greets arriving and departing guests. Proactively provides our guests with personal service and attention that exceeds their expectations. Accountable for maintaining high service and quality standards according to brand standards, including Quality Assurance Inspections and Guest Satisfaction Surveys.


Job Duties: Daily Operations

As the Audio/Visual Game technician your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Constant execution of Margaritaville Resort - Biloxi standards and policies.
  • Ensure excellent relations with guests and other team members.
  • Understand, comply with:
    • All Company policies, procedures, and operating standards.
    • All federal/state/local laws and ordinances.
  • Understands and is proficient in all systems and tools to perform job duties.
  • Able to set-up, operate and troubleshoot all AV/projection/lighting/conferencing equipment, devices and systems.
  • Ensures all AV equipment is operational, repaired, and cleaned when necessary.
  • Label any broken equipment and communicate problems to the manager/supervisor.
  • Tape down all loose wires and cables.
  • Check delivered equipment and room set-up against event order.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Communicate any additions or deletions to events to the manager/supervisor.
  • Assist and instruct customers regarding proper usage and operation of AV equipment, monitor equipment operation at appropriate intervals.
  • Break down, remove, and secure equipment after events.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Complete required and ongoing training for the position.
  • Assist management in training new Team Members within the department when applicable.
  • Prioritize and complete all assigned tasks, for maximum productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure a harassment-free environment through proper personal conduct.
  • Use respectful language with Guests, Team Members, Supervisors and Managers at all times.
  • Respond appropriately in emergency situations to avoid danger to self, Team Members, and Guests; remain calm at all times.
  • Assists in the maintenance of the FEC games
  • Ensures FEC games are operational and reported when not.
  • Assists in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the games in the FEC.
  • Other duties as required or assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and professional work environment at all times.
  • May attend weekly or monthly departmental meetings.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of experience in A/V.
  • Excellent reading, writing, and mathematical skills must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide and have great communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with other departments and outside contacts.
  • Ability to complete a heavy workload and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Good judgment and decision-making abilities.

Physical Requirements:

Continuously, stand or sit for long periods, intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies, and perform simple grasping and fine manipulation.

  • The incumbent should be able to stand continuously for entire shift.
  • Incumbent must be able to communicate clearly. Long hours sometimes may be required. Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Pushing, pulling and lifting objects from lower to higher position or higher to lower position or moving objects horizontally, from position to position and be able to grasp objects while bending, stooping, standing, sitting or walking,
  • Will be required to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching in narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
  • Climbing and ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps.
  • Hearing sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
  • Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus both indoors and outdoors.
  • Occasional travel for training purposes or other business needs.
  • May be required to work, in a changing indoor and outdoor environment, such as bright sunlight, noise, wind, rain, cold, snow, heat, smoke etc.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by coworkers, guest, and members.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, and cooperativeness.
