Marcus & Millichap is Hiring a Commercial Real Estate Analyst Near Austin, TX

 Marcus & Millichap, the nation's leading commercial real estate investment company is seeking a career minded Commercial Real Estate Analyst for their Austin office. The role will be a support position for a top-performing multifamily investment sales team with a transaction volume as a team over $16.5 billion in the trailing three years. The candidate will be providing a broad range of analytical and research assistance. This individual will be responsible for various tasks related to commercial real estate analysis and proposal preparation.

The ideal candidate will have some exposure to Commercial Real Estate underwriting, be proficient with Excel, possess a can-do attitude, and be highly organized with an attention to detail. Training will be provided.

This position is a full-time, on-site role based in our Austin office

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial analysis and modeling, including the creation of financial models, pro-forma analysis including cash flow and debt/equity, net present value and discounted cash flow analysis, and IRR (internal rate of return) analysis.
  • Establish supportable underwriting assumptions or estimates when information is not readily available.
  • Compile abstract property financial statements and due diligence information.
  • Research and prepare variance analysis and explanations including, interpreting and identifying inconsistencies in data.
  • Research property specific demographics and economic trends to support financial assumptions via internal programs, internet research or similar sources.
  • Initiate communications with appropriate parties to obtain additional information as needed.
  • Establish and articulate valuation strategies based on project requirements. 
Required Knowledge and/or Experience
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
  • Finance/Real Estate/Valuation Experience or Coursework Preferred
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with people of all personality types
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple projects
