Marcone Plumbing is a wholly owned subsidiary of Marcone Supply that manufactures and distributes high quality plumbing products and expert solutions to create best-in-class customer experiences. The PPG umbrella has three national brands with Speakman, Wolverine Brass and PlumbMaster and a history stretching back 150 years in the plumbing industry. The District Manager is responsible for leading a high performing sales team comprised of both factory direct sales associates and independent sales agencies. These sales leaders are responsible for ensuring the successful achievement of sales, operating profit, and market share objectives within a defined North American District. The District Manager will define, develop, and manage the implementation of sales strategies across 3 defined channels: Multi-Unit Construction and Renovation, Repair – Maintenance – Improvement (RMI), and& Showroom - Remodel.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and guidance directly to Territory Managers, Business Development Managers, Business Development Representatives, and Independent Sales Agencies
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with key customers at the leadership level and maximizes opportunities to provide valuable insights.
  • Plays an active role on the Sales Leadership Team taking on special assignments/projects as needed; collaborates with Peers responsible for Field Sales to ensure optimal execution at the district level.
  • Works collaboratively with Marketing to shape the strategic direction and leads the effort within the district to develop a robust plan designed to improve profitability and increase share across all channels.
  • Provides oversight and direction regarding decisions on product lines affecting assigned channels including product planning, pricing, forecasting, and deletions.
  • Participates/leads the hiring, coaching, development, and retention of Team.
  • Ensures optimal market coverage for all customers, modifies as needed throughout the year.
  • Cultivates and fosters an environment of high performance through performance management, employee development, career progression and rewards and recognition.
  • Keeps senior leadership informed of sales activities in the district to ensure they are knowledgeable of relevant issues including business trends, distribution patterns, competitive practices, and product performance.
  • Develops and implements sales strategies and programs that lead to strategic account acquisition, retention, or increased share of the customer’s business. Creates sales plans that include customer analysis, account opportunities, strategic initiatives, and measurable outcomes.
  • Manages budgets and uses resources and programming judiciously to maintain and increase sales and gross margins with strategic account customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 6 years of sales and management experience, including at least 3 years of sales management responsibility.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical ability coupled with outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated success and track record in delivering results in demanding market conditions.
  • Progressive career path with a proven track record of success
  • History of driving for results and instilling a sense of accountability with the team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a budget and use resources and programming to increase sales and ROI.
  • Must reside in the district (Midwest).
  • Ability to travel 50% and work non-standard hours.
