MARC, Inc of Manchester is Hiring a Job Developer Near Manchester, CT

MARC, Inc. of Manchester is seeking for a Full-Time Job Developer who duties will include performing job searches and job development for individuals with developmental disabilities. This position will include educating the business community on MARC, Inc.'s Employment Services. The individual will develop and evaluate job descriptions at employment sites, conduct orientations for participants as needed, and provide pre-employment training for individuals, including resume preparation and interview techniques. They will also coordinate schedules and attends interviews for employment with each individual along with other duties.

Requirements: Must have a valid CT Driver's License and vehicle with current CT registration and insurance, as driving is a requirement of the position.

This is a full-time position available Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours a week

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Utilize market techniques: developer performs job search, job development, and marketing in order to secure employment for each person served.
  • Educate the business community regarding the benefits of MARC, Inc.s Employment Services.
  • Develop and evaluate job descriptions at employment sites.
  • Provide input, consultation and analysis to the employer, keeping in mind the abilities of each person served.
  • Conduct orientations for MARC, Inc. Employment Services participants as needed.
  • Provide pre-employment training for individuals enrolled in MARC, Inc.s Employment Services, including resume preparation and interview techniques.
  • Coordinate scheduled and attends interviews for employment with each individual.
  • Provide information on transportation options and assists individuals in coordinating these options.
  • Encourage the development of natural supports for employees at community businesses.
  • Ensure that all people served have choice, dignity and independence through the career plan process and all related employment activities.
  • Assist employers and employees in the resolution of any potential or actual barriers to successful employment.
  • Ensure the follow-through of all safety and emergency procedures at employment sites.
  • Attend in-services, outside agency, and all staff committee and employee meetings as needed.
  • Complete all documentation functions in compliance with MARC, Inc. Policies and Procedures and outside monitoring agencies.
  • Demonstrate ability to market and develop new business contacts.
  • Performs other duties as designated by the Director of Employment and Career Services

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associates degree plus two years in the human services/business field and experience in supporting staff.
  • Must have a flexible schedule.
  • Knowledge of employment development, business contacts, computer operations and management information systems.
  • Ability to analyze situations, develop creative solutions, and act quickly/remain calm in a crisis.
  • Ability to relate well to others both individually and in a group.
  • Ability to train and consult with individuals both internally and within the community.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to organize, be flexible, keep a neat work area, and work independently.
  • Ability to drive, have available a personal vehicle and obtain a public service license.
  • Must be able to complete all essential job duties, minimum qualifications, and physical efforts with or without a disability.

PHYSICAL EFFORTS:

  • Frequent sitting, walking, standing, and driving.
  • Ability to lift and transfer up to 30 lbs. and occasional lifting of nonambulatory people
