Marc Academy and Family Center is Hiring a Remote Community Liaison

Community Liaison

MARC Academy & Family Center Inc. is a community based organization in the Bronx that offers high quality, subsidized early childhood education and care through our centers and network of family child care providers. MARC is hiring a Community Liaison to serve as the liaison between our network of family child care providers, the families they serve, and the other community stakeholders involved in our innovative collaboration with PlayReadVIP, an initiative at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. With generous funding from the Robin Hood Foundation, the project team will work to adapt a highly effective parenting intervention to the Family Child Care (FCC) setting (the project is named VIPinFCC). This is a unique and exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about early childhood education and care, research and community engagement.

Note: This position is made possible through a 2-year grant from the Robin Hood Foundation. Continuation of this role beyond the initial grant period is contingent on receiving additional funding, and is therefore not guaranteed.

Details:

  • Location: Remote (MARC and NYU are based in New York City, NY)
  • Compensation: $40,000 Benefits

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ongoing relationship management with families, providers, and other stakeholders in the context of the VIPinFCC project, from the MARC Academy & Family Center Inc. perspective.
  • Supporting a needs assessment which will include conducting/supporting interviews, focus groups, surveys/questionnaires.
  • Regular reporting of community perspective/priorities/needs back to the VIPinFCC leadership team, including the VIPinFCC Working Group.
  • Ensuring that community voice is centered throughout the course of the VIPinFCC initiative,
  • Engaging the broader community to familiarize them with the project, to understand community needs/priorities relevant to the VIPinFCC initiative.
  • Facilitate strong ties between our network of family child care providers, the families they serve, and the PlayReadVIP team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree (Bachelor’s Preferred)
  • Community engagement experience
  • Experience working in early childhood settings
  • Fluency in Spanish

Preferred Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Project Management Software (Basecamp, Asana, Monday)
  • G-Suite

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 per year
