Direct Care Staff

Location : Somerville

Hours : Part- time Weekends 12 : 00AM to 8 : 00 AM

Job Summary :

We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Care Workers. As a Direct Care Worker, you will provide essential care and support to individuals in need.

This role is crucial in ensuring the well-being and comfort of those under your care.

Responsibilities :

• Understand and enforce all the rules and policies of the shelter and agency
• Conduct regular safety and security checks
• Conduct initial screenings and formal intakes of new guests
• Attend staff meetings, regular staff supervisions, in-service trainings and professional development
• Answer phones, take messages and answer door
• Check all guest chores, including overseeing and participating in trash removal system
• Responsible for the safe and secure storage of guests’ prescription medications
• Maintain clear, detailed and objective records during shift
• Available to listen to guests and offer support, encouragement and empathy within context of healthy boundaries

Qualifications :

• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with individuals under your care
• High school diploma or equivalent education required
