LICENSED VACANCY Position is for the 2022-2023 school yearPOSITION: Teacher, Early Childhood Education LOCATION: Adventure Elementary PAY RANGE: $54,000 - $112,164 Annual Salary CALENDAR: 190 Days REPORTS TO: School Director SCHOOL DESIGN OVERVIEW: Adventure Elementary is a PK-6 dual-language school that provides the unique educational combination of a dual language learning environment (English and Spanish) with a strong Expeditionary Learning (EL) Education framework. Students are supported throughout the entire school day in becoming bilingual and bi-literate in English and Spanish, regardless of their native language. The goals of Adventure’s dual language immersion program are to maximize students’ Spanish and English language proficiency, provide a rich academic environment in both languages, offer a rich culturally diverse experience, and develop students’ abilities to work and live successfully in multiple cultural settings. Colorado teaching license with an appropriate Early Childhood Education endorsement required.
Early Childhood Special Education endorsement preferred.
Additional endorsement in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education preferred, *or willingness to pursue endorsement or equivalent coursework. *
K-3 teachers must provide documentation of evidence-based literacy training per CDE requirements
Bilingual in English and Spanish
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS: Applicants need to be highly motivated, flexible, dedicated, and creative to promote a positive climate and culture.
Willingness and ability to meet the diverse needs of learners (including special education, at-risk, linguistically, and culturally diverse) by adjusting curriculum and working cooperatively with other staff through inclusion.
Conduct parent teacher conferences, home visits and ongoing communication with parents.
Demonstrate a clear understanding of early childhood education and developmentally appropriate practices.
Operate as the classroom lead teacher.
Demonstrate an understanding of a variety of screening and assessment tools appropriate for young children.
Be able to provide individualized instructional support for students.
Be able to lead and supervise one or more paraprofessionals in the classroom.
Commitments and competencies in using a variety of instructional deliveries are including, but limited to, cooperative learning, and interdisciplinary instructional thematic units.
Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to a standards-based system of designing and delivering instruction and assessment.
Will demonstrate a willingness to collaborate and solve problems with professional peers.
Designs instructional intervention that is clearly focused on the standards and assessments established by the District and the State.
Provides expanded opportunities and support for learner success.
Aligns all instruction with and designs instructional interventions with State and local standards and assessments.
If a licensed ECSE:
Demonstrate the ability to write and update IEP’s.
Demonstrate proficiency in evaluation to determine if special education services are needed and understand the Colorado preschool special education laws and regulations.
Willingness to participate in mandatory training and staff development/workshops.
